This is the mood board for this stunning black and white colour scheme this month.
And here is my interpretation.

White...with 1 Challenge October 2019

For me, orange always screams autumn! I loved the citrus combo which would allow some other shades of orange, yellow and rusty colours. I love using sketches as a starting point for my work. I have always used sketches and when I taught classes, I always made a point of showing how great they are for ideas.

I love black and white photos. I knew I had a great original black and white photo of me as a child. It was taken by my Late Father who was a horse racing photographer for over 50 years.
I love the stark contrast between black and white and decided to keep the layout crisp and simple.

White With 1 September Challenge - rainbow

The challenge over at White...with 1 this month was an unexpected rainbow of colours, just for a nice change! I really enjoyed creating this layout with watercolour paint and contrasting black and white.

ARTastic Design Team October 2019 - Frames

The challenge this month is to use frames in your layout. I have used the new Dusty Attic chipboard frames

This month the challenge is purple and there was an optional sketch to work from. I love using sketches so had to use it!

This is my interpretation. I immediately knew that I had to use a photo I had of the Jacaranda trees in Spring in Pretoria, South Africa where I used to live. I miss that magnificent show of nature

The them this month is HUMOUR

This is my take on the theme. I found myself reminiscing about the days when my (now) 17 years old son was a toddler and loved to hide and climb all over the house - typical boy! He certainly gave us a few laughs and a few grey hairs too!!

ARTastic Design Team July 2019 - #beauty

This month the challenge is to use paint on your layout. Below is the inspiration art work.





This is my interpretation. Using Kaisercraft Rosabella range, I used paint to splatter on the background, I painted the chipboard, I painted through a stencil and I painted some of the flowers to tone in with the colour scheme.

Guest Designer White..with 1 June 2019

I am excited to have been asked to be a Guest Designer at White...With 1 this month.
I'm a South African-born Kiwi and have been scrapbooking for 15+ years. I emigrated with my husband and son 10 years ago to Christchurch, New Zealand and have continued my passion. I owned a scrapbook shop in SA and designed kits and taught classes for my shop - my dream job! I was a finalist in a competition called "Cream of the Crop" and my work was published in a beautiful book. I love using sketches and mood boards as a starting point, my style is clean and uncluttered and I have to add flowers to all my layouts, even masculine ones! I have been experimenting out of my comfort zone with water colouring and mixed media.

This month's theme is Children Playing. I chose some photos of my son when he was at preschool, using Kaisercraft Fiesta paper range, did some fussy cutting, distressing, inking and hey-presto!!!
I loved using the bright colours in this range.

This month the challenge is "Your Pet" using this painting as inspiration

I loved the bright colours this month so chose Photo Play "Wiskers" paper range. I challenged myself further to use lots of "older" items from my stash such as flat flowers and brads. The chipboard circles represent string or wool which my cat loved to play with. This month marks a year since she went to kitty heaven.

ARTastic Design Team Challenge March 2019 - "Adore"

This month's challenge was monochrome in any colour. I chose my favourite photo of my hubby and I taken 19 years ago the day after our wedding. I printed the photo in greyscale to tone in with the pink/burgandy tones of the layout. I hope you like it!

ARTastic Blog Design Team Challenge February 2019

This artwork was the inspiration for my layout this month. I love the nature them and the colours and knew exactly which photo and them I would use!

And this is my take on it! 

I was inspired by the "nature" theme this month after my recent cruise to the Pacific Islands. We spent a blissful day snorkeling and lounging on Mystery Island, Vanuatu.
